MECOMS is developed by Ferranti Computers Systems, a System Integrator with more than 30 years of experience on the energy, water and utilities market. In the Mid 1990’s the development of the MEtering and COntract Management System started.

At first MECOMS was a peak-shaving solution known as PECS, but soon it evolved into the first real MECOMS system. MECOMS 1.0 mainly featured metering data management. MECOMS 2.0 was a major step forward as it included Contract Management, Billing and basic CRM functionality. The next version of MECOMS not only further broadened (then also including extranet and messaging functions), but also deepened its support for already featured processes. To MECOMS 4.0 a completely new module was added: Workflow.

In 2005 a major new version was introduced: MECOMS 5.0. This version featured full support by Microsoft’s Dynamics AX, but also a deepening of CRM and Finance functionalities. Now it has grown to the reference Utilities ERP-CRM Solution for Energy, Utilities and Water Companies.
