Calculation
MECOMS®’ Calculation Module has comprehensive support for calculations. This functionality is closely linked to certificates like the Device Readability Certificate, a unique concept in MECOMS®. You can calculate exact consumptions or extrapolate using a certain set of variables and parameters such as new and old consumption data (linear extrapolation e.g.).
Any unit used for calculation can be converted. MECOMS® features special calculations, such as maximum power in combination with total consumption. Such information is very valuable to a supplier a balance responsible in relation to fining, billing, etc.
A set of predefined formulas is at your disposal, but adapting and creating formulas is also supported. Formulas include o.a. estimated values (yearly or monthly e.g.) or SLPs. Such predefined calculations enable you to easily estimate consumption for newly entered metering configurations – private (like sort of family) as well as business related (like type of company). These predefined calculations can be sold to suppliers as they are keen on well estimated consumption profiles for their billing.
MECOMS® supports moreover not only imports of such predefined calculated consumptions, but also exact calculated values to improve actual or predefined calculations. Imports can be done through GUI or file exchange. As such consumptions can be unlinked and recalculated using newly imported indexes or consumption data.
MECOMS® has strong tariff & calendar management in its calculation module. It enables you to manage consumption periods and related tariffs for both manual as well as automatic meter reading (e.g. day/night/weekend/high/low or multi register / multi unit support for AMR).
During the development of MECOMS®’ Calculation, extra attention was paid to a special type of calculation: unmeasured consumption. This allows you to realistically estimate consumption for a connection that is not measured (usually water). This feature includes other parameters than those used for default consumption calculation. It has parameters such as: number and type of bath tubes, surface, number and type of people, etc.
