The energy market is facing rapid changing business requirements and needs flexible, cost effective and fast time to market IT systems.
MECOMS based on the Microsoft Dynamics AX Platform is the perfect platform for such IT systems.
The first quarter of 2008 has been exciting and very busy. We signed up a new partner and have some more in the pipeline on short term. We updated our Partner Program Extranet with a lot of new and revised content in order to better support our partners in marketing, sales and implementation.
We won some interesting deals in different activities of the liberalized market. More to come,…

 TexelEnergie is a cooperation that was established with a specific focus on energy consumers on Texel. TexelEnergie focuses on the purchase, supply and production of green energy. As an environmental focused company TexelEnergie invests al its profit in improving development in the area of renewable energy consumption and green energy.
TexelEnergie uses MECOMS to service its energy customers handling processes of CRM, Billing and EDI messaging in the energy market. The modularity and flexibility of MECOMS effectively addresses the business challenges of TexelEnergie to be able to rapidly implement their solution at a cost-effective price. MECOMS was delivered in an ASP model making use of the business blueprints to deliver a quality solution in a short implementation time. The ASP model reduces the cost and allows TexelEnergie to grow its business and in the future extend the MECOMS functionality the company is using. The Energy Data Management functionality in combination with the EDI and Billing module provides a total solution for TexelEnergie.

HugurAx Iceland Signs Partner Agreement to Sell, Implement and Support MECOMS in the Energy, Utilities and Water Markets in Iceland |

 (Reykjavík, Iceland & Antwerp, Belgium – April 2008) – Ferranti Computer Systems, a system integrator supplying specialized IT Services for the energy, water and utilities market, and HugurAX Iceland, one of the largest software companies in Iceland, with approximately 130 employees, today announced that HugurAX has enrolled in the MECOMS Partner Program.
HugurAx is the leading Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP solution provider in Iceland. HugurAx is a powerful partner and service provider in the field of business and financial solutions, management information systems and specialized software solutions. HugurAx services more than 4000 customers, primarily in the local market and also in parts of Europe and as far apart as California and Australia. The goal of HugurAx is to be the partner of choice for companies wishing to achieve results, the role being to support them in their endeavors.
The agreement comprehends that HugurAX will sell, implement and support MECOMS, Ferranti’s Dynamics AX vertical for the Energy, Utilities and Water markets. HugurAx will position MECOMS as the solution for the Electricity, Gas, Water and district heating market parties in Iceland. This alignment will allow HugurAx to provide a larger portfolio of IT solutions and services to their customers in those markets, based on this market leader Vertical.

Microsoft Utilities held its annual Global Utility Summit on March 27 and 28 in Prague, Czech Republic |

 The common thread throughout the whole Summit was the challenges that the Utilities faces in the years to come. Environmental pressure, regulatory changes and demands, liberalization and renewable energy sources were the main topics.
In order to cope with these challenges, a big role is set for the IT systems in those changing Utilities. Smart Grids, Advanced Metering Infrastructure, Meter Data Management and Complex Billing for huge amounts of consumers and industries, are key functional areas that today’s IT systems have to provide.

 The European Commission environment policies show commitment to emission reduction and sustainable and eco-friendly energy. A technology platform for the electricity networks of the future (so called Smart Grids) has been setup. Read More. Smart Grids no longer rely on central production but involve decentralized production (Combined heat power, solar, wind) and demand side management.
Some business cases for the implementation of Smart Metering build on deregulation and related meter data management. Smart Metering also plays an essential role in smart grids. | New MECOMS Release |
|
The new MECOMS release focuses on usability and flexibility to improve the user experience and productiveness of users throughout the entire system. Key users involved in the beta release testing find the new functionality very easy to use. The improved UI delivers more insight in the business processes and also allows the user to efficiently handle issues that require manual intervention.
Further enhancements are situated in the area of municipality billing and advanced energy data management. The release is planned for 04/04/2008 more information about the MECOMS release and the included functionality will be published on www.mecoms.biz shortly.
