Calculation

MECOMS™ Calculation has comprehensive support for all calculations a utility needs to perform. This functionality is closely linked to certificates, such as the Device Readability Certificate, a unique concept in MECOMS™.

Extensive calculation possibilities

Exact consumptions can be calculated or extrapolated using an extensive set of variables and parameters, such as new and old consumption data, linear extrapolation etc.. Custom formulas can easily be added by the user.

Any unit used for calculation can be converted. MECOMS™ features special calculations, such as maximum power in combination with total consumption. Such information is very valuable for a supplier or a balance responsible in relation to billing, fining etc.

Predefined and custom formulas

A set of predefined formulas is available, but adapting and creating complex custom formulas is also supported. Formulas include estimated values (yearly, monthly etc.) or SLPs.

Such predefined calculations enable estimation of consumption for newly entered metering configurations - private (e.g. family profile) as well as business related (e.g. company type). These predefined calculations are valuable for suppliers as they are keen on well estimated consumption profiles for their billing.

Moreover, MECOMS™ supports importing exact calculated values to improve actual or predefined calculations. Imports can be done through GUI or file exchange. These consumptions can then be unlinked and recalculated using newly imported indexes or consumption data.

Tariff and calendar management

MECOMS™ has strong tariff and calendar management in its calculation module. It manages consumption periods and related tariffs for both manual as well as automatic meter reading (e.g. day/night/weekend/high/low or multi register/multi unit support for AMR).

Unmeasured consumptions

During the development of MECOMS™ Calculation, extra attention was paid to a special type of calculation: unmeasured consumption. This allows you to realistically estimate consumption for a connection that is not measured (usually water).

This feature includes other parameters than those used for default consumption calculation. It has parameters such as: number and type of bath tubs, surface, number and type of people, etc.
