Service Management

MECOMS™ Service Management plans and assigns work to field workers. For example for meter installations and decommissioning.

Using mobile devices, these technicians can do their work on site and can be connected in real-time to the back office system via GPRS. Rescheduling, communication, alerts and notifications can all be accomplished using these portable terminals.

By eliminating inefficiencies and unnecessary work, productivity is significantly improved.

MECOMS™ Utility Service Management

This module orchestrates the process of planning and scheduling maintenance works. The Work Order functionality prepares activities of technicians, using data from the system to determine time forecasts, required materials and skills.

As MECOMS™ is built into Microsoft Dynamics AX, service functionality has been integrated with the standard Project module. This provides an easy and configurable gateway to general and analytical accounting.

The module supports service quotations, planned maintenance, car inventory follow-up, service partner (outsourcing) follow-up, etc.

Planned maintenance and other repetitive work can be generated using blueprints. This is useful for service campaigns (e.g. leak inspection tours) .

Using data and KPI’s generated from work order activities, inefficient or unsatisfactory processes can be tracked down and adapted for the future.

MECOMS™ Service Management Mobile Client

The MECOMS™ Mobile client allows handling of service requests on the road, using a rugged tablet device.

MECOMS™ Mobile provides related data on activity type and asset specific instructions, customer communication and service history. It also lets the technician request rescheduling or split up unfinished activities.

Functionality of the mobile device includes:

  • electrical plans
  • location plans
  • customer sign-off
  • hours and material posting
  • on-site data entry
