MECOMS™ Advanced Metering Infrastructure takes care of all meter reading processes.
MECOMS™ organizes the manual meter reading process. Meter readers use terminals with MECOMS™ mobile. These devices organize the meter reading rounds and validate meter readings on the spot. The work planning, meter readings and other collected information are wirelessly transmitted using a built-in GPRS connection. This way, suppliers can receive validated consumptions within hours of the actual meter reading.
Furthermore, MECOMS™ natively interacts with all types of automatic and smart meters.
Calculating consumptions
Many meter parks have grown historically, and feature widely differing devices. MECOMS™ Calculation and Validation use a sophisticated conceptual model with asset trees and meter certificates, to seamlessly convert raw meter readings into reliable consumption data.
Flexible rules and formula’s detect errors and fraud early in the process, thereby preventing the cost of subsequent corrections.
Data distribution
MECOMS™ Market Interaction is an open solution that easily but securely distributes metering information to different market parties. Localized blueprints enable it to use XML or EDI and communicate with other market parties.
Furthermore, MECOMS™ Settlement calculates the contribution that each customer needs to pay for using the grid ("gridfees") and allocates energy usage on the level of the suppliers. While being very resource-intensive, these processes do not slow down the application.
