ANDREAS, CFO

As CFO at OmegaPoint, a major utility, Andreas is responsible for the financial risks, planning and reporting of the company.

Reducing Cost to Serve

Until recently OmegaPoint had a variety of systems and technologies to run their business which proved to be very costly.

In this respect, the Operating Expenditure (OPEX) of running MECOMS™ is much less because of lower IT operating costs due to a far more simplified technology stack. Operating expenses for the business are also reduced because of better aligned business processes resulting in for example a lower call center load or decreased need for manual interventions.

Increasing Customer Profitability

Before the market was liberalized, integrated utilities, often government owned had a monopoly in the market and did not care as much about customer profitability. Before MECOMS™ was introduced at OmegaPoint all of the necessary information was dispersed over different systems where nobody within the organization had an accurate view of which customers were the most profitable and why and which ones were the least or not profitable at all.

Because MECOMS™ is a single system, combining all of the business processes into one fully integrated system, customer financial data is now readily available at Andreas‘ finger tips.

Performing Analysis and Planning

Where before Andreas had to gather data from multiple sources for analysis, often needing to rely on IT to get him the data, MECOMS™ now gives him immediate access to all the information he needs in one single reporting tool which combines all analytical data with built in KPI‘s.

This information gives him insight in all of the aspects of OmegaPoint and allows him to run simulations and plan for changes.
