Lucy is responsible for consumption validations at OmegaPoint, a major utility company. She and her team convert raw meter readings are into reliable consumption data. She ensures plausibility and quality of the information.

Convert raw meter data into consumptions

The MECOMS™ calculation module calculates consumptions according formulas that are defined in templates.

These templates, such as Meter Reading certificates and Device Readability certificates, are available for each and every grid connection.

This approach makes it easy for Lucy to cope with the multitude of devices and data formats used at OmegaPoint.

Detect erroneous and fraudulent results

Lucy uses a Total Quality Management approach to ensure the quality of meter readings and consumptions. This approach requires Lucy to detect faulty, incorrect and suspicious meter readings early on, to save rework and increase customer satisfaction.

MECOMS™ Validation offers easily configurable validation rules to do this. These rules use historical data to determine the plausibility of the meter readings and consumptions.

Reduce time spent on finding and correcting errors

The MECOMS™ Validation uses an exception based workflow. Correct values are processed automatically, while suspicious values are put in a fall out list. This allows the staff to focus on analysing and correcting the exceptions, without worrying about the rest.
