MECOMS™ offers a two-way communication with different types of smart meters and is capable to scale up to millions of smart meters. Therefore it uses the concepts of smart meter unification and load balancing.  MECOMS™ is also able to perform the meter data management of the collected data in an effective manner.

Perform market interaction with other market parties

MECOMS™ facilitates market messages and processes with other market parties. It facilitates registers, such as access register, meter register and meter data register, which contains the "single truth" for the market. Complex market processes, such as switching and settlement are also supported.

Service the distribution grid

MECOMS™ supports the service management of the distribution grid Based on the asset inventory maintenance of the grid assets can be planned and executed.  Other planned service activities are the installation of smart meters, connections and other mutations on the existing grid.   With MECOMS™ service management it is also possible to handle unplanned service activities for incidents like power outages.
